Plenty tasty tunes up until 1973.
Something happened then.

At least up til 1973 when it would seem as if something fell off a cliff and, all at once, accounting for taste was no longer a given.

I think 1973 coincides with my first teenage party.
I had a long conversation with someone of approximately my own age whose gender I could not determine in the course of polite conversation.

In no order:
1. A cover of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit by Patti Smith played on toy guitars, mandolins, banjos or ukules. The best covers for me are always optimally rendered on tinny plucked string instruments (Ed: Any connection with the name of this blog?)

2. Stevie Wonder ‘Uptight.’ Stevie, who I once wheeled a foldback monitor around on the Val Doonican Show in the Television Theatre in Shepherd’s Buah around the time John Lennon was shot for, was the first time I encountered charisma.

3. Another cover: Wuthering Heights. Sung by a man from the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire and member of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. At the Proms 2009. Produced by the extraordinary Roland Taylor. I tokk a picture – Henry Wood’s eye view of ‘interactivity’ at the Proms:

4. Hmm. Watch this spaice.

5 Hmm.

6. Hm

7. Again hmm.

8. Hymnen.

Salve repeater

What a weekend! What a Week – End!! A weekend like some others. A weekend of freedom. The freedom to do as you please, wearing your best suit, or not, as you wish, sir. You are the customer, but if you take my advice, I am in control of the situation comedy.

To stay up late drinking espresso so you can stay later even upper. Most productive. MOST productive. With a hint of irony.

The leaves, those blessed leaves, fig leaves not excluded, far from it, those leaves, they are falling to the ground. On and off, but the drift is plain. They fall. We tidy.

In these times of plenty leaves we must consider the lips of the face. The lips of the face get sere and need greasing. So let us buy lip vaseline from Boots. Let us put it in our black leather pocket. Let us go out on our daily business, in the sere weather.

We find something. We find an old pattern returning. The pattern is recognisable. It’s kinda predictable.

We find the lip salve we just bought, as expected, in the upper left leather breast exterior pocket.  And what is here? What is here with our keys and work id card in our upper right leather breast exterior breast pocket? The same lip salve, last seen at the end of last winter.  Twins. Reuni. Reflecty. Rejuvi.

There is Service and there is Customer Service. I want the Service I pay for to be reliable and at fair cost and I want to be able to tell easily whether it is competitive so I know that I’m getting a fair deal. The concept of Customer Service becomes important in a service organisation when it is not confident about the quality and value of the Service it provides.

I spent most of this weekend re-working my LinkedIn profile. For a while it was looking good: confident and quirky.

I’ve an empathetic style which makes communication with all sorts of people a mutual pleasure. That’s the way I see it and let the devil take anyone who disagrees with me.

Reality check with GG confirmed that anyone who isn’t me would read author of this as egotistical, probably domineering and of poor judgment to publish this on a professional profile.

A few more hours work and we have a profile that uses capital letters to try to be more scannable which no one will want to read because it DEMONSTRATES corporate HUMOURLESS language and my STRENGTHS in using powerfully BLAND claims.

I could probably do better but spending more time on this isn’t consonant with the V factor in my new invention, smarter than SMART,  ’S.U.A.V.E.R.’ goals:

I’m excited to work on projects that are Strategic, User-focussed, Adaptable, add Value , are Environmentally aware, and Requirements-driven.
